Type : Bay,Beach,Cape Located : Muang(Ranong Town) Ranong 9 kms from downtown Ranong along highway 4004(Ranong-Paknam) This small beach and pier, and a nearby hillside viewpoint offer good vantage points from which to witness seafaring life along the mouth of Ranong’s principal river. The hilltop viewpoint is a particularly good location for watching Ranong’s sunsets.
Type : Other Located : Muang(Ranong Town) Ranong Located about 2 kms east of the provincial office, the hot spring have been a popular tourist spot ever since King ChulachomKlao(King Rama V) visited Ranong in 1890, and named the road to the hot springs "Chon Rau" ,meaning "hot water" .There are three natural spring pools. The temperature of the water in the pools remains constant at about 65 C. The water is both potable and suitable for bathing. Doctors routinely prescribe bathing in the pools for both medical treatments and as a relaxing way to ease stress and tension. The water from these pools in considered holy, so it came as no surprise to residents that water was used in the King's 50th Birthday Celebration in Bangkok last year. Surround the hot springs is a deep shaded forest called "Raksa Warin",where resting pavilions and washrooms have been provided for the visitor's comfort. Nearby Wat Tapo Tharam also provides bathing rooms for visitors who want to enjoy the healthy mineral water from the thermal springs.
Type : Mountain,Cave Located : Ampher Kraburi Ranong This beautiful cave adorned with plenty of stalactites and stalagmites is located at Km.546 on High way No.4, some 12 kms.north of the town. An old legend links it to the establishment of Kra Buri town. It is said that Lek Lai, a special iron element believed to be elastic and flexible like wax, has been found in this cave.
Type : Waterfall Located : Ampher La-un Ranong This roadside waterfall is some 15 kms. Before Ranong township on the Kra Buri-Ranong route. The water cascades from a high cliff and makes a refreshing rest stop for motorists touring in the South.
